Two friends are really happy to see each other again after 5 long years. They they eat and chat about their pasts.
Five years ago, Juan and María hadn’t seen each other. Juan lives in Madrid and María lives in Barcelona. They met at university.

On Saturday morning, Juan goes to a café. The café is nice and has lots of flowers. The place is small and quiet.
Juan arrives early and waits at a table by the window. He looks out at the street and picks up a book. Juan is nervous and happy.
After a few minutes, María arrives. She is wearing a blue dress and smiling. “Hello, Juan!” says María. Juan says, “Hello, María! It’s good to see you!” They hug each other. They both feel happy. They sit down and talk a lot.
They order coffee and cake. The coffee is hot and very tasty. The cake is small and sweet. They eat and talk about college. They remember their professors, classes, and parties. Maria says, “I remember when we went to the beach.”
Juan laughs and says, “Yes, it was a lot of fun.” They also talk about their jobs. Juan works in an office in Madrid. María works in a store in Barcelona. She has new friends in Barcelona.
Juan and María take photos. Juan uses his phone and takes a photo of the two of them. The photo is beautiful. Afterwards, they leave the café and walk down the street. It is sunny and the day is pleasant.
They walk through a nearby park. They see flowers, birds, and children playing. They buy ice cream and eat it on a bench. The ice cream is cold and delicious.
They talk about their families. María has a sister and a dog. Juan has two sisters and sometimes lives with his parents. They talk about trips.
They want to travel together again. María says: I don’t want another five years to go by. Juan replies: Me neither. Let’s see each other more often.
Before leaving, Juan and María exchange phone numbers. They hug each other for a long time. They promise to call each other next week. They also plan to meet in Barcelona in two months. They are both happy.
At the end of the day, Juan returns home with a smile. María takes her train and thinks about their reunion. The reunion was a happy day. Juan and María know that their friendship is special. Now they talk and see each other more often.
